What Sin Really Is

Defining Sin:  What the Church Forgot

Introduction

Most people think they know what sin is. They've heard it from pulpits, read it in pamphlets, or absorbed it through church traditions. But what if much of what we've been told is wrong—or at the very least, incomplete? Sin is not just a list of bad behaviors or things God doesn’t like. It’s a breach in the Covenant, a fracture in the harmony of creation, a rebellion against the very breath and order of YHWH’s design. This teaching goes far deeper than surface definitions. We will uncover the Hebrew roots of the word "sin," trace its patterns through the Torah, and reveal its devastating effects on both individuals and nations. If we don’t understand what sin really is, how can we ever know what righteousness looks like—or what repentance requires? Let us return to the Ancient Path and strip away the fog of religious confusion. The Truth is clearer than we’ve been told—and far more urgent.
