To This One Will I Look

Isaiah 66:2

Introduction

Amid all the noise of human pride, religious performance, and outward grandeur, YHWH’s gaze does not fall on the powerful or the self-assured. His eyes search deeper—for the one who is humble in spirit, broken over sin, and trembling at His Word. This is not the vision of men, who esteem greatness, achievement, and strength; it is the vision of the Most High, who delights in a contrite heart. To understand what it means for YHWH to “look” upon someone is to uncover a profound truth: His favor, His nearness, and His presence are not earned through rituals or status, but found in the quiet posture of humility before Him.
