Putting a Face on God
Remember Mt. Horev - Return to Sinai
Introduction
Putting a Face on God — When Man Carved the Invisible
From the beginning, YHWH made one thing clear:
You saw no form the day YHWH spoke to you from
the midst of the fire… (Deuteronomy 4:15)
He is not flesh. Not like us. Not bound to body, bone, or breath. And yet—through creeds and councils, images and idols—mankind has done what was forbidden:
They gave the Unseeable a face.
They painted the Eternal with mortal hands. They took the Infinite and made Him look like one of us.
This article will walk you through what may be one of the most serious crimes in religious history:
The reshaping of YHWH into the image of man —and more
specifically, into the image of a single man named Jesus.
We will explore what the Torah actually says about seeing God, representing God, and calling flesh and blood divine.
To “put a face on God” is not just mere error it is a serious sin.
It is idolatry of the highest order; and it is very serious crime, indeed! And the ripple effects have shattered the very identity of the Most-High in the minds of millions.
He is fire. He is breath. He is not man.
Return to the Mountain where no form was seen.
